American Humane Association Agent Lets It Slip That Life Of Pi Tiger ALMOST DIED During Filming!!!

This is just awful!
Whenever we saw that “No Animals Were Harmed” tag at the end of a movie, we felt confident that no animals suffered any sort of abuse.
But according to an internal email from American Humane Association (AHA) monitor Gina Johnson, who was on set during the live tiger scenes in Life of Pi, during one of the few scenes when a live tiger had to be used, the animal almost DIED!
Even though, Gina gave the film the “a-okay,” that wasn’t the case – and she even let it slip in a confidential email! Hmm, first you put a treasured living creature in harm’s way and then you try to cover it up, and admit to malpractice in an email! SUCH A FLAWLESS HUMAN BEING.
They were filming a scene where the tiger was swimming in a giant tank and things went bad. According to an email from Gina:

“This one take with him just went really bad and he got lost trying to swim to the side. Damn near drowned.”

Luckily, the tiger survived when its trainer threw it a rope and helped drag it to shore.
This woman, a supposed animal lover, watched an animal almost drown for a shot, and said nothing.
Maybe because she was romantically involved with a high-ranking production exec on the film!
What’s worse is this is apparently common! If an animal is injured accidentally or off camera it “doesn’t count.”
That’s awful and we really hope the AHA changes all their procedures because this just isn’t cool!
