Angelina Jolie was so brave to reveal to the world her decision to undergo a double mastectomy.
And her courage is giving others the strength to talk about their own procedures!
Barbara Walters said today on The View that she too had preventative surgery! She said:
“My sister passed away from ovarian cancer and I had my ovaries removed. It├óΓé¼Γäós not like having the breasts because people don├óΓé¼Γäót see it. But it├óΓé¼Γäós a decision you have to make ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it├óΓé¼Γäós preventative. What I think with Angelina Jolie ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ she├óΓé¼Γäós such a sex symbol and we associate sex with breasts. And the fact that she did this and has retained her beauty and her sexuality. I think it was brave of her, she did it for her own health, but it was so brave to write about it. A women├óΓé¼Γäós sexuality is not tied up with her breasts.”
