Armie Hammer is now totally here for the cannibal allegations that derailed his film career! Wait, WHAT?!
On the very first episode of his brand-new podcast The Armie HammerTime Podcast, which just dropped on Tuesday morning, the 38-year-old star had on longtime comedian Tom Arnold as his debut guest. And while the two were chatting it up, the Call Me By Your Name alum admitted something shocking: that now he “kind of” likes the cannibalism accusations that were levied against him a couple years back! Seriously!

So, as Perezcious readers certainly already know, back in 2022, two of the actor’s exes — Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison — came forward in the House Of Hammer documentary to claim that he had sent each of them messages detailing supposed cannibalistic fantasies about them. The whole thing blew up across social media and the internet, and it completely derailed his once-promising film career. This dude appeared in 2022’s Death On The Nile, and hasn’t been in anything since — with no new screen projects in the works now, either, as it appears.
(Oh, and there’s also the not-so-small matter from last April of a woman accusing the actor of sexually assaulting her, too. Hammer denied those allegations at the time, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office did confirm that they were investigating the star over the rape claim. In the end, though, there wasn’t sufficient evidence to bring charges.)
Regardless, Hammer’s film career was pretty much dead in the water. And now, it sounds like he’s cool with it?!?!?! During the podcast, he told Arnold of his current thoughts on those cannibalism claims:
“It’s wild. I’m not going to lie, I kind of like the cannibal stuff now.”
The Social Network star then went on to elaborate:
“The accusations are the thing that make so much noise. Like, what makes more noise? ‘Armie Hammer is a cannibal’ or ‘Armie Hammer might not be a cannibal?’ The cannibal thing makes more noise and you don’t get an apology tour in this world. Like, someone says something about you, everyone believes it, and they move on with their lives to whatever it is they’re focused on, because they’ve got their own lives.”
The 65-year-old standup veteran replied to Hammer by offering this:
“The great news is that you’ve worked on yourself.”
To which Armie confirmed:
“When something like this happens, we do all this work on ourselves. Not so that we can get the jobs back but so that we don’t care if we get the jobs back. I think that’s where I feel like I am now.”
Ooooookay! Whatever you say, pal!
BTW, Armie first announced this new podcast venture on Monday with an Instagram video of himself skateboarding down the Venice Beach Boardwalk. In the clip, he explained how the podcast will feature “long-form, interesting conversations with people who have tools or skills or have acquired wisdom… that I don’t know [and] I want to learn.” As he skated down the sidewalk under the bright El Lay sun, he continued:
“Some of you are going to love this, and some of you are going to f**king hate it. The original idea of the podcast was sort of the concept that over the course of a day every single person you interact with knows at least one thing that you don’t. So, teach me what that one thing is.”
So that is the highfalutin plan for the podcast, and Armie’s bright idea was to bring on Tom f**king Arnold for the debut episode?! Make it make sense! This dude is living in La La Land… literally!
Reactions, y’all?!
