Bachelor Peter Weber FINALLY Breaks His Silence On Those Kelley Flanagan Dating Rumors!

Saddle up, Bachelor fans. We’ve got the truth straight from the horse’s mouth!

Peter Weber is speaking out for the first time about his rumored relationship with contestant Kelley Flanagan. This flirty pair has been heating up in recent weeks as they quarantine and take over TikTok together, and despite an outright denial of anything more than friendship from Flanagan, fans weren’t quite convinced about these two.

Well, Peter sat down for a juicy new interview on Nick Viall‘s podcast, The Viall Files, where he finally and FULLY updated fans on what’s really going on with his former flame. There’s plenty of noteworthy backstories here, but we’ll cut to the chase and answer the burning question on everyone’s mind: are these two dating??

According to Weber, he and Flanagan are NOT a couple… at least not yet. Sure, it may look that way online, but here’s what the airline pilot had to say about how the two reconnected in the first place:

“There’s a lot of stuff that people don’t know. My relationship with Kelley has been… serendipitous. You go all the way back to the very beginning—us running into each other before any of this stuff started. Obviously, the show happened and it didn’t work out for us. Over the Super Bowl, I was in Miami and I had the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl with my brother, and I ran into her on the Saturday night before the Super Bowl.”

It seems a crowded sports area proved to be more romantic than the Bachelor mansion, as he continued:

“Within our relationship on the show, it didn’t really play out in the best way for us. It just wasn’t gonna work on the show. Fast-forward [to] now, a couple weeks ago, I’m out with Dylan [Barbour] and Devin [Harris] and I was texting Kristian [Haggerty], asking her if she wanted to come out with us. She comes out with us, she’s with Kelley. Me not knowing this. They show up, I see Kelley again… jaw drops. We chat, we end up hanging out and that’s when I got her number. We started to communicate and just stay in touch.”

So, how exactly did we go from another chance encounter with friends to shacking up together in Chicago during the coronavirus health crisis?

“She’s always been supportive of me. Long story short, I wasn’t working so I thought I’d go out there [to Chicago] and spend some time with her, take her mind off some [family] things. This was right when everything was starting to hit with the quarantine stuff… and it kind of just became a thing where we’ve always gotten along really well, and had really good chemistry. We just enjoy each other’s company. I just decided to quarantine up here with Dustin as well.”

The 28-year-old set the record straight, noting:

“Are we dating? No. Do I love spending time with her? Absolutely. We’re not dating. Could I see that in the future? Yeah, of course. I’d be extremely lucky and very happy if that happened. Of anyone, I’m the last person that needs to rush into any kind of relationship. I just had an engagement that didn’t work out. I just was trying to pursue things with another woman that didn’t work out. That’s why right now, I’m just taking it really, really slow.”

We’re not so sure temporarily living with someone counts as taking is slow, but if it works for them, go for it? It sounds like they’ve managed to genuinely connect in a way that the ABC show couldn’t facilitate for them last Fall. He also sent Kelley home unexpectedly just as she seemed to challenge his way handling relationships at the house, so there’s that.

The reception from Bachelor alums hasn’t been great thus far; Tyler Cameron was among the first to throw a little shade at the unofficial couple’s TikToks and shortly after, Pete’s ex Hannah Ann Sluss also dished out a subtle stamp of disapproval with a snarky retweet about Weber’s online activity with Flanagan.

When or if Peter and Kelley ever decide to take their relationship to the next level, we all know there’s one person out there who’s going to be thrilled — momma Barbara Weber! As we reported, she’s a BIG fan of the 27-year-old attorney and she’s probably tired of yelling this phrase at her son:
