That’s a lot of bees!
A semi truck was involved in a pretty bad accident Friday on Interstate 405 near Lynnwood, Washington.
And while the driver of the truck was not injured, this crash was a very different type of highway nightmare — the truck was carrying over 14 MILLION BEES!

Many of the $92,000 worth of bees died in the crash and recovery process, but the majority of the bees were saved and put back on their way to pollinate a blueberry farm in Whatcom County.
Luckily, the crash happened around 3:30 am, making it much easier to wrangle the cargo — the sun causes bees to get much more agitated and difficult to handle.
As it is, almost all of the Highway Patrol, media, and other responders on the scene were reportedly stung at least once.
Ouch! We’re just glad the driver and most of these bees ended up OK!
