Blake Lively knows she has a long and difficult road ahead of her!
After the actress accused her It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign to ruin her reputation, we haven’t seen much of her. Other than a few pictures here and there on social media, she stayed out of the public eye as much as possible — certainly as public opinion has started to shift against her. However, she couldn’t hide forever! Not when she has a new movie to promote soon!
To dip her toes back into the spotlight again, Blake attended Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary special with hubby Ryan Reynolds on Sunday and did not shy away from the cameras! The Gossip Girl alum posed for pictures on the red carpet and mingled with other famous attendees. Ryan took a risk and poked fun at her legal battle with Justin at one point — though fans weren’t laughing. Except for Bethenny Frankel, viewers seemed to hate the inappropriate joke.

Blake is having a hard time with the public right now. It might not have been the wisest decision on his part to joke about the situation, which not only caused more backlash from fans but also possibly hurt her case.
But a source now says she is trying to remain positive as much as possible since she has a “long year” ahead.
A source told People on Tuesday that Blake is “just trying to focus on the good things” right now. However, it’s not always easy to do so! She was even “a bit anxious” to get back out there and attend SNL 50 — something we’ve heard from sources before! If the Age of Adaline star was nervous, she did not show it — so says a body expert! But the insider assured it wasn’t so easy:
“Blake felt a bit anxious about attending the SNL anniversary. She still thought it was the perfect opportunity to ease back into the spotlight. They had many friends attending, and as soon as they arrived, they received a warm welcome. It was a great event.”
It didn’t sound like she “received a warm welcome” from everyone! The other guests may have been kind to her face but behind her back? They may not have had the best things to say! Oof!
Although it may have been easier to remain home while the legal battle plays out, she can’t! Blake has things to do, like promote her upcoming film Another Simple Favor with co-star Anna Kendrick. The insider said:
“Blake wouldn’t mind staying out of the spotlight for longer, but she has to get back to work with Anna Kendrick soon anyway. She feels more ready now. She knows it will be a long year with continued drama, but she’s just trying to focus on the good things. Her family is everything to her.”
Oh boy! Blake better brace herself for this press tour! You know fans will pick apart everything she says and how she acts in every single interview and red carpet — especially since there have been rumors of her feuding with Anna partly due to her legal drama with Justin! If people find any hints of tension between Blake and Anna, they are going to run with it! And Taylor Swift’s (former?) best friend will have even more of a problem on her hands, which is the last thing she needs right now.
