Bobbi Kristina‘s cause of death has been confirmed.
On Friday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed in a statement that Whitney Houston‘s daughter’s death was caused by drowning as well as drug intoxication. How sad.

The statement reads:
“The underlying cause of death is the condition which starts the downhill course of events leading to death and in this case is the immersion associated with drug intoxication.”
Of course, this news sheds some light onto what exactly happened back in January 2015 when Miz Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub — which was eerily similar to the accident that led to her famous mother’s passing. After months in the hospital, Bobbi Kristina was eventually moved to hospice care where she died on July 26.
Prior to the formal release of the autopsy report, the statement also highlights that marijuana, alcohol, sedative medications, and other anxiety treating drugs played a part in Bobby Brown‘s daughter’s death. Whoa.
As we previously reported, the medical examiner’s office had revealed that they would be releasing the documents after a local T.V. station won a request for the papers. Obviously, this information was initially sealed as it factored into the ongoing criminal investigation about her death.
Currently, the Browns believe that the late starlet’s boyfriend Nick Gordon caused Bobbi K’s untimely passing and have slapped the young man with a wrongful death lawsuit.
This sad update comes on what would’ve been the R&B scion’s 23rd birthday. Our thoughts are with B.K.’s loved ones during this trying time!
