Bobby Womack, soul singing legend, has been diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s!
Oh no! That’s so sad.
We previously mentioned that Womack had just survived colon cancer and some pretty bad pneumonia.
It’s only the very beginning but the dementia can rapidly progress and get much worse in a short amount of time.
Womack said:
“The doctor said, ‘You have signs of Alzheimer’s.’ He said it’s not bad yet, but it’s going to get worse.”
The earliest warning signs came when he began forgetting song lyrics and the names of musical collaborators.
At least he’s got it together enough to know he’s going to get the disease.
Hopefully he now has time to make any preparations because things will only get worse and he’s already upset about it, saying:
“How can I not remember songs I wrote? That’s frustrating.”
We feel so bad! That must be the worst.
Hopefully he finds a way to cope or slow the progression of this awful disease.
