Disgusting Prankster Arrested For Leaving Fake Bomb At Boston Marathon Finish Line

A man was arrested after leaving a fake bomb at the Boston Marathon finish line last night.
In the world of awful pranks, there are jokes that go too far too soon — or the kind that are simply in poor taste.
Then there’s this effin’ guy.
A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday after leaving a backpack at the finish line of the Boston Marathon hours after the city held a memorial service to mark the one year anniversary of the bombings that claimed four lives and injured many more a year ago.
Police caught the suspect as he ran down the street, barefoot in the rain yelling “Boston Strong, Boston Strong,” and the backpack was later detonated by a bomb squad. The bag reportedly contained a rice cooker filled with confetti.
The awful prankster has been identified as Kayvon Edson, a former student at Parsons School Of Design and is the founder of an art blog called Natural Selection. Authorities described him as being “not of sound mind.”
If that’s the case, we really hope part of his punishment is getting the kind of mental healthcare he needs — but it still doesn’t scratch excusing what he did. We just wish he had been helped earlier, and that our mental healthcare system could reach the kinds of people who do things like this BEFORE they happen.
We mean, the 25-year-old’s Facebook page even has a cover photo featuring Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev along with the text “Had a blast at the marathon!!!”
He currently faces charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and possession of a hoax device.
We have no idea how anyone could find humor in such a sad and traumatic event in Boston’s history, and hopefully he’s punished appropriately (including care if he’s truly mentally unstable) for making light of a terrible situation that affected so many lives.
We’ll roll our eyes harder than ever before if he turns out to be fine and claims it was ‘performance art.’
