Narcos Star Boyd Holbrook Reveals Elizabeth Olsen Broke Up With Him In A Very Traumatic Way -- Here's The Story

Let’s just say 2014 was difficult for Boyd Holbrook.
Last October, the rising actor and model got some terrible news: his fiancée and lady love of three years, Elizabeth Olsen, called off their engagement.
While a breakup is difficult in every sense, the situation was made more upsetting and complicated by the fact that his best friend, famed photographer David Armstrong, had just passed away from liver cancer at age 60. Essentially, Olsen ended things with Boyd on the same day his BFF died.

Yep, that sounds like a situation not even Netflix and booze could cure.
The actor recalled:

“On the same day that my best friend died, I got a call from my girl to tell me it was over.”

Yikes. We can’t even begin to imagine B.H.’s pain!
Oh, and if you’re wondering who David is — he was a renowned photographer best known for his intimate and exquisite photos of male models. Armstrong had repeatedly photographed Boyd over the years and even became something of a mentor.
Holbrook elaborated on the friendship:

“David was the first person in my life to encourage me. He told me to do everything I wanted to do. No one had ever told me that before. He was a very important figure in my life. Important figure is not even close to what he was.”

So sweet.
As for how the Narcos star reclaimed his sanity, the gorgeous guy decided to go on a Chilean coastal tour via a motorcycle. Holbrook revealed:

“I was consumed with my own personal depression, my own personal scenario at the time. What happened over the course of the journey was that I started noticing the different types of trees. I started noticing beauty, the details.”

Sounds like Boyd was able to dust himself off in an amazing way. Hopefully 2016 will be an incredible year for the 34-year-old!
