From a sample of 258 restaurant burgers, researchers found three burgers with rat DNA, and one frozen vegetarian burger with human DNA! Yuck!

As for the presence of human DNA, the report states:

“The most likely cause is hair, skin, or fingernail that was accidentally mixed in during the manufacturing process.”

Still gross, but not Soylent Green gross.
The research also found there are “gaps” in food safety and quality standards, as the report continues:

“What many consumers don’t know is that some amounts of human and rat DNA may fall within an acceptable regulatory range.”

Aside from the foreign DNA, other shocking findings concluded that almost a quarter of vegetarian burgers had different ingredients than advertised on the label — two veggie burgers contained beef, and one black bean burger had NO black beans in it! Ugh!

If that’s not enough to be nervous about, 4.3 percent of the burgers contained pathogenic DNA — which can cause food poisoning.
Oh, and also 12 burgers in the study contained over 100 more calories than advertised.
WHERE IS YOUR BEEF NOW!?
