Reactions to the news that Ben Affleck would be donning the cape and cowl as the next Batman have been mixed.

But fans aren’t the only ones who were affected but the news. Previous Caped Crusaders were as well!
Until now, Christian Bale has kept his reaction to himself, and it may be because he was a touch embarrassed!
You see, the Dark Knight star went through some pretty intense feels over the news! He finally admitted:
“I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, ‘Oh go on … Let’s do another.’ So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour.”
Wow.
Even Christian himself admits he shouldn’t have been affected so strongly. He said:
“But I’m 40. The fact that I’m jealous of someone else playing Batman … I think I should have gotten over it by now.”
We’re glad that like the Internet, Christian eventually chilled out. After hitting the acceptance stage, he even reached out to the new Bruce Wayne. He said:
“I haven’t spoken with Ben, but I emailed him offering bits of advice that I learned the hard way. I would imagine he is doing everything he can to avoid anything that I did.”
We’re guessing he’s going to pull back on that Batman voice. You spend half your per diem on throat lozenges! LOLz!
