Um, did they forget the letter they sent??
Remember that Christian school in Timberlake, Virginia that recently kicked out a little girl because her clothes were too baggy and didn’t adhere to their “biblical standards”?
Well apparently that’s NOT what happened! According to the school, at least…
Timberlake Christian Schools is telling their side to the story after news broke of them dismissing their student Sunnie Kahle because she dressed like a boy, and they say the media got it all wrong! They released a statement saying:
“With all due respect, the facts are not as [Sunnie]’s great-grandparents have portrayed them. This matter is far beyond a simple ‘hairstyle and tomboy issue’ as inaccurately portrayed. It is not about that at all. At no time did the Church or the School state or imply that [Sunnie] was sexually immoral or the like. Yet, reports like this have appeared in the media. The School has never told [Sunnie] she cannot return to school.”
Hmmmm. So that’s not what they meant when they said TCS was not the best place for her due to her dress and behavior???
The school went on to say they have a duty to uphold Christian standard for all of their students and have the right to dismiss anyone who doesn’t meet these standards.
Basically, they’re saying although they didn’t technically expel Sunnie for her baggy clothes and short hair, they actually have a right to because it’s un-Christian!
We’re not really sure how this press release helps them because it basically confirms what we already knew, but the good news is Sunnie has moved on to a new school and has no plans of returning to TCS! Good riddance!
