We’re sure Lavell Crawford is kicking himself right about now.
Earlier this week, the Breaking Bad alum made a series of anti-LGBT remarks while appearing on the web series, VLAD TV. And while the straight comedian noted that he doesn’t do material about homosexuality (out of fear of the “gay mafia”), he was more than comfortable spewing off close minded opinions about the community as a whole.

The industry vet shared:
“I touch on gay stuff, but I touch on it the way you’re supposed to touch on it because I don’t look at it like, the gay people, I look at it people having feelings.”
Sadly, that’s where Mr. Crawford should’ve stopped as he then added:
“No matter how much they’re getting accepted it’s still fucking weird. Now they’re trying to get their own bathrooms and shit… It’s still not the norm.”
Oh, Lavell, nooooo. Clearly, the funny man is confused about what the transgender bathroom fight is all about. HINT: it has nothing to do with gay men trying to use the ladies’ room. We’re honestly shocked to see how ignorant Crawford is about the LGBT community as he revealed in the interview that his own father came out as gay later in life.
On his father coming out, Lavell commented:
“I didn’t know how to react at first, and then I ain’t know if it was hereditary or not.”
Ugh, seriously?? The 48-year-old also noted he was afraid a “gay switch” would turn on.
Thankfully, Crawford has since apologized for his insensitive remarks on Twitter (below).
“To the Gay Community I want to apologize for my choice of words if it offended anyone.I apologize not that I’m afraid but because I am man and a man of God and it’s not my job to hurt or condemn but to entertain and inform my way. but if you watch the video (vladtv) without judgment and not so quick to be offended you will see I respect everybody and it’s none of my business what you do in your private lives so I apologize not to save face or out fear but it’s right thing to do.”
