Dog The Bounty Hunter Opens Up About New Fiancée: 'It's Just Incredible That I've Been Able To Meet Someone Like Her'

Wedding bells are once again ringing for Dog the Bounty Hunter

The reality star has had a tough year after the passing of his beloved wife Beth Chapman, but things are looking up now that he has a new woman in his life. Not long after he began dating Francie Frane, Duane proposed — and now he’ll be heading down the aisle for the sixth time.

The 67-year-old opened up to TMZ about his fiancée and how their relationship first blossomed. He said:

“Well, for a living she’s a rancher, and she has recently lost her husband to cancer, six months before I lost Beth. So, we hooked up on the phone and started, you know, talking to each other, crying, consoling each other, and then one thing led to another. And it’s just incredible that I’ve been able to meet someone like her.”

Dog also talked about how their shared grief has made the relationship stronger. He told Harvey Levin

“You know I sit around for 10 months just, every single day, Harvey, I just cried. ‘Where’s my Bethy,’ you know? I just, I can’t face it. You know, they say ‘oh, it gets better after years’ and I don’t — it gets worse. So with Francie, I’m allowed to speak about Beth, I talk about Bob — [her] husband that passed — and we cry and we hold each other.”

Dog was (understandably) quite publicly distraught after Beth died of lung cancer in June 2019, and even went on record saying he would never marry again. However, he now believes that he needed Francie to help him get back on his feet. He explained:

“I am a fixer. I gotta catch bad guys. I gotta be at the top of my game, I can’t feel sorry for myself or guilty. I gotta get out there and make a difference, is what I do for a living. So I gotta get back, I gotta — what they call on the reservation, I gotta ‘man up.’ So, she helps me do that.”

Asked about his family’s opinion of Frane, Duane replied:

“They all love her, she talks to them on a daily basis. And the boys were like, ‘Whoever you like dad, whoever you wanna love it’s okay.’ And the girls are like, ‘No, it must come with our stamp of approval dad.'”

And he’s certainly got it — Beth and Duane’s daughter Bonnie posted an impassioned defense of her dad’s relationship on Instagram, while daughter Lyssa told The Sun, “Francie is an amazing woman… And it was a really organic relationship. Like the way they came together is really sweet.”

As to what Beth would think of his new relationship, Dog said he think she’d approve. But he’s not sure his late wife is paying attention to what he’s doing, wherever she is:

“I don’t know if Beth even knows. You know, she’s kicking it around with the angels — and you know Beth, if there’s any hell, raisin’ it. So I’m like, she’s all happy, so I don’t know if she knows.”

Sounds like he’s in a really good place! We’re happy for him!
