Whoa. This might be a bit harsh.
While many are mourning Mindy McCready’s suicide, one person is using it as a chance to address Dr. Drew Pinsky’s show, Celebrity Rehab.
Musician Richard Marx didn’t hold back while commenting on what he finds to be a huge problem in getting help to those suffering with substance abuse issues through a TV program.
He took to Twitter to post a controversial tweet:
I think “Dr” Drew Pinsky should change his name to Kevorkian. Same results.

He made the reference to suicide doctor Jack Kevorkian as five celebrities who have appeared on Dr. Drew’s show have lost their lives to suicide.
However, he later realized maybe he was too extreme in trying to get his point across as he later tweeted:
I went too far with the Kevorkian crack. It is, however, my opinion that what Dr. D does is exploitation and his TV track record is not good

Dr. Drew has commented on Mindy’s death and his recent interactions aimed at helping her as he said:
“Although I have not treated her for few years, I had reached out to her recently upon hearing about the apparent suicide of her boyfriend and father of her younger children. She was devastated. Although she was fearful of stigma and ridicule she agreed with me that she needed to make her health and safety a priority. Unfortunately it seems that Mindy did not sustain her treatment.”
Mindy’s suicide came after her fiancé’s untimely passing due to unknown reasons as well as her children being taken from her and placed in foster care.
We hope her family and friends are able to find peace after this tragic event.
