Elephant Nature Park in Thailand Gets A Big Baby Surprise!

Congrats to the Elephant Nature Park!
A sanctuary for elephants based in Thailand, the Save Elephant Foundation’s Elephant Nature Park is celebrating the birth of new baby boy elephant, Navann.
Born to Sri Prae on Sunday, October 28, Navann tips the scale at over 200 pounds!
And the zookeepers didn’t even know Sri was pregnant! LOLz!
Sangduen “Lek” Chailert, the founder of SEF, says the following about the BIG surprise.

She never presented any signs she was pregnant, so we were quite surprised to hear the elephant commotion in the early morning.
Given the long gestation period of elephants and the lack of fertile bulls at ENP upon Sri Prae’s arrival at the park, we are convinced she was already pregnant when we rescued her.
We have so many false pregnancies at the park we never suspected she might have been carrying a baby.

Sri Prae and her fellow elephant (and nanny!) Malai Tong survived a mine blast before arriving at the sanctuary so this joyous gift definitely has the park jumping.
But let’s hope all the elephants are jumping at once! HA!
