Fired AGAIN! Film Critic Elvis Mitchell Can't Get A Break!

elvis mitchell loses another job

It’s not easy being Elvis!

Back in September, we learned that Elvis Mitchell had landed a job as a co-host on Roger Ebert’s new At the Movies show.

Unfortunately for Elvis, he lost that gig, and now he’s been fired from his gig at the Movieline blog after only three months!

Apparently, Mitchell was let go after he included a “wayward fact” in his review of Source Code. Nothing’s been confirmed, but given the fact that he criticized the film for a scene that NEVER made it into the final cut, there’s some speculation as to whether or not Mitchell actually watched the movie, or just reviewed an earlier draft of the screenplay.

Then again, maybe there was even more to the firing. Here’s IndieWire’s Anne Thompson on Elvis Mitchell’s character:

“Mitchell is not good with money. Or meeting deadlines. Filing expenses. Or doing what he says he├óΓé¼Γäós going to do. He has left or lost one job after another, from NPR to the New York Times. Famously, he never turned up for a job he had accepted at the L.A. Times, nor for a job as a development exec for Sony. He has expensive tastes. He likes Versace suits and staying at the Four Seasons in L.A.”

“Here├óΓé¼Γäós Mitchell in a nutshell. At Sundance, I was standing in line at a snack bar when juror Jason Reitman accosted Mitchell, asking him why he hadn├óΓé¼Γäót returned any of his emails or phone calls. Mitchell demurred.”

Hopefully Elvis can get himself together, but at this point, it sounds like his reputation may be pretty damn tarnished! Guess we’ll see when/if/where he gets hired on next.

Do U think Elvis Mitchell is still hireable? Would U hire him?
