Move over jasmine, bergamot, and sandalwood: there’s a new and unconventional scent taking over!
In case you missed it, Gwyneth Paltrow recently added a surprising item to the wide range of health and wellness products for sale on her popular website, Goop.
The 47-year-old actress’ company is currently selling a pricey decorative candle named “This Smells Like My Vagina” — and yes, we’re 100 percent serious about this!

For the staggering price of $75, customers can purchase the cheeky votive for their very own. Because that’s what we’re all missing in our personal collection of smell goods, right?
According to its listed description, the whole vagina candle idea “started as a joke” between perfumer Douglas Little and Paltrow while they were collaborating on a fragrance together. The two were hard at work testing scents when the actress stumbled upon a combination of notes that felt more personal than most:
“Uhhh..this smells like a vagina”
OMG. Can you just imagine how awkward the perfumer must have felt in that situation? LOLz. We mean, how do you follow that up?
The pair eventually decided their creation would do better as candle than as a perfume and put the now wildly popular item up for sale.
So, what does it smell like, anyway?

“With a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent, this candle is made with geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed to put us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.”
Okay. So, now we all know what the Oscar-winner’s special flower supposedly smells like! At the risk of not sounding too forward, citrusy bergamot does sound pretty delightful to us. Ha!
Forget how we feel about it, though! As we mentioned earlier, this baby is already flying off online shelves.
According to Goop, the brand did a “test run” for the candle in its early stages and “it sold out within hours.”

While lifestyle gurus like Martha Stewart may not be a fan of Paltrow’s growing wellness empire, there’s clearly a lot of folks out there who on-board with what she’s putting out!
With that being said, we also wouldn’t blame someone if they decided to sit this one out; the Iron Man star did catch quite a bit of flack for recommending vaginal steaming not too long ago (which ended badly), so, proceed with caution!
