Harrison Ford may be a hero to many people, but for the Star Wars star, it is his daughter who he idolizes!
On Monday, the Indiana Jones hunk attended the NYU Langone Medical Center‘s Find a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures (AKA FACES) event with his daughter Georgia. It was at this event that the A-lister revealed that his 26-year-old suffers from epilepsy.

Wow! Ford shared:

“She is joining me to thank FACES. I admire a lot of things about her. I admire her perseverance, her talent, her strength. She’s my hero. I love her.”

What beautiful words from a doting father! In fact, it appears that Harrison is more than grateful to support the organization as one doctor, named Orrin Devinsky, has been “a great service to [his] family.” Aww!
He continued:

“When you have a loved one who suffers from this disease, it can be devastating. You know how it affects their lives, their future, their opportunities and you want desperately to find mitigation. You want to find a way that they can live a comfortable and effective life.”

Apparently, thanks to Dr. Devinsky, Georgia hasn’t had a seizure in eight years. AH-Mazing!
During a speech at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers, the 73-year-old explained his daughter’s long history with the disorder, and highlighted that for many years her condition was unknown despite having access to the best medical professionals.
On finally turning to NYU for help, Harrison tearfully noted:

“Dr. Orinn Devinsky, who is a dear friend, made the diagnosis: epilepsy. He prescribed the right medication and therapy; she has not had a seizure in eight years.”

We’re not crying, you’re crying! Overall, we are just happy to learn that Georgia is now happy and healthy.
