This is so sad!
On Wednesday, mixed martial arts fighter Jordan Parsons‘ life was tragically cut short at the age of 25 after he was struck by a vehicle while out walking over the weekend.
Parsons was on his way home from the gym on Sunday when a silver Range Rover at a Delray Beach intersection in Florida hit the athlete and took off. Police are unsure of who had the right of way but believe Jordan was wearing headphones and may have not heard the car.

After the accident, Jordan was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors amputated his leg in an attempt to save him, but he ended up passing away on Wednesday evening from the injuries he sustained.
Sadly, the 25-year-old had a pretty promising career as he was signed with the production company Bellator and had an overall record of 11-2 and had a fight scheduled to be televised later this month.
Scott Coker, the Bellator MMA President released a statement regarding the tragic news saying:

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons. Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.”

Currently police are looking for a 2012 or 2013 Silver Range Rover that would most likely have damage to the left side as a damaged mirror was found at the scene. Broward County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Dani Moschella told the Sun Sentinel:

“We are missing the crucial puzzle piece of finding the driver. Right now, we don’t know exactly what happened that led to the crash. We urge the driver to contact us to give us his or her side of the story.”

Authorities are asking that anyone who might have information regarding the accident call Officer Dan Cramer at (561)243-7800 and CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest.
Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
