It has been a year of health scares for Kelly Clarkson!
After having to undergo emergency appendicitis surgery just hours after hosting the Billboard Music Awards back in May, the songstress revealed she had to grin and bear it through an even more painful experience on live TV!

It’s hard to imagine something hurting more than a burst appendix, but Kelly will tell you a ruptured cyst on the ovary is WAY worse!
First recalling having to perform and host the BBMAs while dealing with an enormous amount of pain from her appendicitis, the American Idol alum told People:
“I just didn’t want to leave people hanging. I was just thinking about trying to relax. I was in so much pain!”
Unfortunately for her, it was only a week after the surgery when Clarkson was back at work filming live shows for The Voice that she knew she was in trouble again.

Kelly, who was having a conversation with her fellow judge Blake Shelton at the time, remembered:
“Blake was talking to me and all of the sudden, everything he said just went away and I had to grab his arm and I was like, ‘Something is wrong.'”
After another trip to the emergency room, she found out about her cyst bursting on her ovary:
“That was more painful than the appendicitis. It was literally a week after my surgery so I was freaking out!”
It didn’t help the E.R. was busy, but she was still able to joke about her health scare at the time:
“I was like, ‘Anyone a fan? can someone help me get a hospital room?'”
LOLz!
“I was hysterically laughing and crying at one point in the E.R. like ‘What is happening?’”
Seriously, having one health scare is enough, but two?? Thankfully, Kelly is feeling much better now, and we can only hope her body doesn’t give her any more trouble:
“I’m great now. I’m totally great now.”
It’s wonderful news, especially since the 37-year-old’s first talk show will be premiering on NBC September 9!
Speaking to ET at the time of the announcement, the Kelly Clarkson Show host revealed she had been practicing her interviewing skills during her last tour by incorporating a “live part” where she interviewed fans. She explained:
“I’m, like, really excited about [the show], but I’m slightly terrified that people have that much confidence in me. I’m like, ‘God, I hope I don’t let people down!’ But no, I’m pretty stoked about it. This whole tour that I just finished up, we did this whole live part during it and I did, I interviewed people here and there and have been working on my listening skills. It’s going to be fun and also it’s very serious. In the pilot, we did a lot of serious conversations that I feel are important, especially as a mom.”
Despite her lack of confidence, execs seem to have a lot of faith Kelly will rule daytime TV.
