ESPN The Magazine gave 20 athletes the opportunity to let it all hang out and show off their stunning features for their upcoming Body Issue, and the photographers had an AMAZING idea when it came to Kerri Walsh Jennings‘s shoot!
In addition to being a 3-time gold medal winning beach volleyball player, she is also a proud mother of 3 kiddies! So ESPN decided to not just focus on her body as an athlete, but to also focus on her body as a mommy (AFTER THE JUMP)!
Photographers set up a first shoot with Kerri when she was 9 months pregnant with her third child and ready to burst! Then, three months later after she gave birth, she posed again with her daughter Scout Margery!
The result were an awesome before and after picture of the proud mama holding her precious bundle of joy. But surprisingly, Kerri said she was a bit nervous about stripping down after having a baby!
Before her second shoot, she admitted:
“This whole week I’ve been a nervous wreck, and this is scary as hell! It’s so much scarier! When I was pregnant I felt like I was in costume almost because it was such a foreign body to me, and now I’m in the ESPN Body Issue and my body isn’t where I want it to be, so I’m a little more vulnerable.”
That seems a bit silly considering Kerri has competed in a tiny bikini with the entire world watching on multiple occasions!
Oh, and did we forget to mention she still looks amazing?!?!
Seriously, this spread gets a gold medal in our books!
Ch-ch-check out the before (above) and after picture (below)!
Well played, ESPN The Magazine. Well played, indeed.
