We KNEW the massive sparkler at today’s Christie’s auction was too similar to Kim Kardashan‘s ring from Kris Humphries for it to NOT be the actual rock!
To confirm our correctness, Kris’ rep has finally come forward to announce that the giant Lorraine Schwartz gem was in fact put up by the basketball star.
The rep released a statement saying:
“The ring is indeed Kris’ property that he received through his marriage dissolution. He has long-since moved on. Kris is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie’s and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic.”
The engagement bauble was expected to draw in anywhere between $300,000-$500,000 in auction, despite rumors of it being worth $2 million.
Lucky for Hump, the ring sold for more than that — $620,000 to be exact! Meaning both Humphries and a charity of his choice will be getting large chunks of cash.
So how does Kim feel about all this? Apparently she’s just been waiting for it to happen! A source claims:
“Kim has been waiting for the day he would auction it. Everyone always asked what Kim did with the ring — she silently gave it back over a year ago! And Kris waited until the divorce was final to sell it. The ring is definitely not worth $2 million, not even half of that.├óΓé¼┬¥
Well, even if the girnormous 20 carat ring was only worth $1 million, the buyer still walked away with a steal!
Unless you consider the massive fee Christie’s heaps on top of the buyer, which would bring the final price of the piece up to a whopping $749,000.
Wonder if the bidder knew the item once belonged to Kim???
