Leonardo DiCaprio Helps Get The Ivory Trade Banned In Thailand

Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) have come together to help save elephants!
In a crazy huge global effort, 1.4 MILLION people have come together and singed a petition calling for the end of the ivory trade in Thailand.
What’s incredible is that the Thai government listened!!
At the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species conference (CITES), Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that he’d end Thailand’s ivory sales.
This all comes on the heels of Leo joining the “Hands Off My Parts” initiative.
The President and CEO of the WWF said:

“This milestone was supported by a remarkable chorus of voices, including WWF Board Member Leonardo DiCaprio, to tell the story of how the illegal wildlife trade is robbing the world of elephants and stealing the wealth of African nations. We hope, and expect, that this commitment will curb poaching of African elephants by closing a major global loophole. Americans and other tourists must continue to educate themselves on what not to buy while traveling so that they are not unknowingly contributing to this illicit industry.”

We really hope that Thailand sticks to its word!
Ban the ivory trade, save the elephants!
It’s that simple!!
