Looks like this adventurous pulp hero is getting the Kill Bill treatment…
As is the case with absolutely EVERY franchise these days, Zorro is getting a reboot, and the filmmakers are planning some major changes for the character.
According to reports, the title character in the upcoming Zorro Reborn “will be less a caped crusader for justice than a one-man vigilante force bent on revenge, in a western story that has echoes of both Sergio Leone and No Country for Old Men.├óΓé¼┬¥
The script was written by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, the same folks behind the upcoming Dracula flick Harker, and the film’s being directed by Rpin Suwannath, a pre-visualization specialist who worked on the Matrix sequels.
Not sure how we feel about this one, but it may be too early to decide.
Our first question would be – who’s gonna play Zorro?
We’d say Javier Bardem, but he’s got a lot on his plate right now. Hmm….
