Yoko Ono Reveals She's Still Terrified Of John Lennon's Killer

We can’t imagine what it must feel like to live your life in total fear.
In a recent interview, Yoko Ono got candid about her life following John Lennon‘s violent murder in 1980.
For those who don’t know, John was fatally shot outside of his New York City apartment by an obsessed fan named Mark Chapman, who is currently serving a 20 years to life sentence for the violent act.

While Ono obviously felt an immense terror in the months and years following the singer’s death, she admitted that she still feels “hunted” even though M.C. has been locked up for close to 30 years.
The artist explained:

“I’m super-careful, almost like a certain animal who is used to being hunted, like a deer. So when I go out or when I don’t go out, in my apartment, I’m very, very careful. It’s very, very difficult for me to think about Chapman, especially because he doesn’t seem to think that was a bad thing to do. It’s crazy.”

It’s so tragic that Yoko has to live this way. At least the activist has her son, Sean Lennon, for support.
Hopefully Mark continues to be denied parole. Considering the killer has been denied eight times, it’s probably safe to say he’ll never see outside of confinement again.
