UPDATE: 5:21 P.M. EST: Kensington Palace have once again released an official statement on the matter in an effort to protect Thomas Markle:
“This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”
Is this the only way Meghan can defend her dad’s honor? With Royal decree??
You’d think someone with a future of nothing but press photos would understand her father wanting some good publicity.
But alas, Meghan Markle is “upset and disturbed” by Thomas Markle getting caught apparently staging photos with a paparazzi less than a week before she’s set to wed Prince Harry.

A source told Us Weekly that while Meghan is bothered by the antics of her father, she has more pressing matters at the moment, explaining:
“Meghan is upset and disturbed by the entire ordeal and just wants to move past it. She doesn’t want to let anything ruin her day and is trying to keep focus on the weekend.”
She has enough to worry about! We mean, who’s going to sit at the Spice Girls‘ table during the reception!? We’re stressed just thinking about it.
The insider added that Meghan’s relationship with her father “has always been strained” because of “his ill thought-out decisions and his lack of responsibility.”
As we reported, Thomas was spotted arriving at a cafe in Mexico with a photographer named Jeff Rayner. The two were seen working together to find a good angle to take a picture of the 73-year-old sitting at a computer reading a news story about Meghan and his future son-in-law.

After the scandal broke, Meghan’s half sister Samantha Markle took responsibility for setting it up — a development the source says “wasn’t a surprise to Meghan at all.” The insider continued:
“Meghan is disappointed that her father hasn’t spoken up and stopped his children from trashing her in the press. Instead, she sees his collaboration with Samantha, who Meghan feels he is much closer to, and it hurts her.”
Thomas later opened up to TMZ about his decision, insisting he just wanted a photo of himself in the press where he didn’t look like an uncultured slob. He even claimed he was so embarrassed, he wouldn’t be attending the wedding!
If Thomas’ intentions were truly just to look presentable, we do hope Meghan thinks about issuing a pardon.
