North Korea Has Reportedly 'Succeeded' In Testing A Hydrogen Bomb -- Get The Scary Details!

no title
This is terrifying!
The United States and Japan have both called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council after reports came out of North Korea that they have successfully tested a hydrogen bomb.
Before the reports were released, officials said they recorded a magnitude 5.1 earthquake in the country near a known site of a previous nuclear weapons test.

├óΓé¼ΓÇ╣Shortly after the the news broke about the earthquake, the South Korean weather agency said there were indications that the earthquake was “artificial.”
Fears seemed to turn into reality as an anchor on North Korean state TV said in a statement:

“We have perfectly succeeded in testing our first hydrogen bomb. It was one hundred percent capable from our own wisdom, technology, and power. We have now scientifically test-proved a miniaturized hydrogen bomb.”

Since the announcement, National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price has released a statement saying:

“We are monitoring and continuing to assess the situation in close coordination with our regional partners.”

Price went on to say:

“We condemn any violation of UNSC Resolutions and again call on North Korea to abide by its international obligations and commitments… We have consistently made clear that we will not accept [North Korea] as a nuclear state. We will continue to protect and defend our allies in the region, including the Republic of Korea, and will respond appropriately to any and all North Korean provocations.”

Officials from the United States are going to investigate the situation by sending out specially equipped “sniffer” planes to gather evidence to determine whether a nuclear test was done on the alleged site.

Executive Secretary of the CTBTO Lassina Zerbo responded to the possibility of a the results coming back positive by stating:

“If confirmed as a nuclear test, this act constitutes a breach of the universally accepted norm against nuclear testing; a norm that has been respected by 183 countries since 1996.”

This is incredibly scary stuff — hydrogen bombs are hundreds of times more powerful than an atomic bomb.
To give some perspective, the atomic bombs that the U.S. dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII released an explosive power equivalent to about 15 to 20 kilotons of TNT while hydrogen bombs — that were first tested in the States in 1952 — released energy of up to 10,000 kilotons.
That’s about 500 times more powerful!
At this point, we hope that the investigations come back negative, and this turns out to be only as true as their leader being the world’s greatest golfer and inventing the hamburger.
