Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ bitter custody battle rages on…
The depths of their legal fight over daughter Daisy and son Otis were exposed in April of 2022 when Olivia got served custody papers while on stage at CinemaCon. The former couple has been fighting over their two kids’ place of residence — Olivia says California is their home, Jason insists it’s New York. In August, though, a judge sided with the Don’t Worry Darling director — determining that New York was not Daisy and Otis’ home and thus dismissing Jason’s petition. However, the Ted Lasso star didn’t give up and filed an appeal afterward. The fighting never ends…
While the parents’ relationship seemed to be on the mend for a minute there, things became nasty between them once again last month. Olivia accused the 47-year-old of attempting to “litigate her into debt.” It’s apparently so bad she claimed she “cannot” afford to constantly go head-to-head over the issue. Fortunately for Olivia, a judge rejected his request once again.

Despite scoring another big win in their case, Olivia is not moving on quite yet! The 39-year-old filmmaker is throwing out another bombshell accusation about her ex. On top of litigating her into debt, Olivia claims Jason has not paid her any child support since their breakup — even though he’s “significantly” wealthier than her!
According to court documents obtained by The Blast on Tuesday, the Booksmart director claimed she has been shouldering “100% of the costs for the children’s care” — which includes clothing, food, transportation, and extracurricular activities — when she is with their son and daughter. Presumably the implication is he’s paying when they’re in his custody — Olivia noted that the pair split the cost of their children’s school tuition. But if he has them less of the time, he should be making up the difference, right?
Inneresting note: this could be why Jason has been so determined their custody battle go down in New York! As we’ve previously reported, the state usually is not as generous when it comes to child support. Maybe the venue is less about the kids’ home and more about legal advantage? If that’s the case, it’s no wonder his lawyers refuse to back down on the issue!
In any case, Olivia is over Jason not pulling his weight when it comes to the expenses! She’s now asking the court to have the Saturday Night Live alum pay child support so she can care for their kids “commensurate with Jason’s standard of living.” She also demanded that Jason help pay for her attorney and accountant fees since he is in a “significantly superior position” financially and she’s losing money due to “Jason and his counsel’s egregious, unnecessary and aggressive conduct.” As for how much she’s asking? Olivia requested $500,000 from Sudeikis to cover her attorney expenses and pay child support retroactively to the date when she filed the case. Her docs declare:
“Jason shares equal responsibility with Olivia for the support of their children, yet Olivia has borne the lion’s share of the expenses for their children since the pendency of this action.”
Obvi, Olivia is not exactly strapped for cash – even though she’s dealing with a bunch of legal matters with Jason. She previously revealed she has a net worth of over $10.5 million, declaring she has $645,187 in bank accounts, $3,902,689 in stocks and bonds, and $6,021,860 in real estate and other property. But per The Blast, Olivia said she has more than $107,000 in monthly expenses, which includes $60,000 in “rent/mortgage” and $4,000 in “laundry and cleaning.” That’s not to mention whatever other costs she accumulates with caring for their two kids. All that sounds pretty high — but so does her bank account.
Jason has an estimated net worth of about $25 million, so Olivia isn’t wrong about him having more money. Do YOU think he should be coughing up child support?
