Could The Future Of Bottled Water Be This Bizarre Little Blob Thing?? Check Out The Mind-Blowing Future Of Hydration HERE!

new edible water bottle blob future hydration
We’re so wasteful as a species, and there’s really nothing more wasteful than the billions of plastic bottles we pitch due to the ease of bottled water and sodas and drinks in general.
Hydrating on the go isn’t that hard, especially if you just grab a bottle of water from 7-11 before heading to work. On the other hand, though, it’s also not hard to just fill up a re-usable cup, but it’s just inconvenient enough where people usually reject that method altogether!
The solution could be way weirder than we think: an amorphous blob of water contained by a membrane that’s actually edible! It’s called Ooho!
It looks like some straight up science-fiction shizz, or how the characters drank water in A Bug’s Life!
The idea was created by three London-based design students who wanted to make something cheap, sustainable, and durable! The membrane is actually two membranes, which could possibly lead to printing logos in between them — something they’re not so keen on trying just yet!
What they DID do, though, is improve upon a decades-old culinary technique called “spherification.” You use a gelatinous membrane to make liquid spheres!
So how do you drink it??
Well, the whole thing is edible, so you could put the whole thing in your mouth and just eat it. Ideally, though, you’d poke a hole with your teeth and suck out the water, because how dirty that membrane gets is up to where you’re putting it!
The only problem is that it’s kinda awkward to drink from, and it usually spills everywhere.
So for now, it’s just a cool idea that’s kinda gimmicky!
We can’t wait to see where the tech is down the road, though! Ch-ch-check out the demonstration video (below)!
