Talk about the summer of celebrity splits!
On Sunday, Vicki Gunvalson and her longtime love Brooks Ayers confirmed that they had a officially called it quits. Oh no!
The Real Housewives of Orange County duo have been on-again and off-again for sometime.

They shared in a statement:
“After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship. We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths. Though the remaining episodes of Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will show us as a couple, the filming took place in January 2015 through May 2015. There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives. Though we choose to live our lives in the public eye, we thank you for your understanding and ask privacy during this difficult time.”
Whomp, whomp.
We’re a little shocked by this news as the reality TV couple appeared to be doing relatively well since their previous split in 2013 and their eventual reconciliation in 2014. The pair have been through quite a bit together including a cancer diagnosis, family death, and controversial media attention.
Brooks, who was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, explained at the time:
“[Cancer] either will tear you apart as a couple or bring you together. And with us, without a doubt, it’s brought us together.”
Tissues, anyone?!
However, the RHOC star’s daughter Briana Culberson was never really a fan of Brooks — especially since he once drunkenly quipped that her husband should hit her. What the what?!
Our hearts go out to Miz Gunvalson during this difficult time. The blonde beauty most recently lost her mother and her grief was captured on camera in an intense episode of the popular show back in July. How sad!
It’ll be inneresting to see if we spot any clues to what brought about this split in the footage for the Bravo show.
Perhaps these two will eventually work it out and get back together?!
We guess only time will tell.
