Acid Attack Survivor Reshma Qureshi Walks The Runway During NYFW

Role model!
Reshma Qureshi, an acid attack survivor, beauty vlogger, and activist, strutted down the runway during designer Archana Kochhar‘s presentation during NYFW Thursday.

The 19-year-old was in Manhattan for the first time, invited to walk the runway by FTL Moda, an organization that strives to change industry stereotypes of beauty.
Regarding the experience, she said:

“I feel really good and the experience was great. I feel as though it has definitely changed my life.”

She was keen to take part in order to show other acid attack survivors that life can go on, even after such a horrific event:

“People have a tendency to look at acid attack survivors from one perspective and I don’t want them to look at them like that anymore. I want to tell the world ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ do not see us in a weak light and see that even we can go out and do things. Why should we not enjoy our lives? What happened to us is not our fault and we’ve done nothing wrong and so we should also move forward in life.”
