Rose McGowan Destroys A Critic Of Renee Zellweger's Looks In THIS Must-Read Essay!

You can always count on Rose McGowan to speak her mind!
On Wednesday, Rose took to the Hollywood Reporter to voice her opinion on a recent essay criticizing Renee Zellweger‘s looks. The piece in question, which was written by a MAN, essentially asked whether or not Renee is the same actress she was years ago considering the recent changes in her face.

Yep, we can’t make this sh*t up.
Luckily for women everywhere, feminist watchdog McGowan decided to pen a flawless response to the offending writer and let’s just say she killed it. From calling out those who “viciously” take part in the hurtful double standards to using examples from her own past struggles with misogyny to illustrate her point, this essay is a must-read for EVERYONE.
In the actress’ scathing opening paragraph, she writes:

“Owen Gleiberman, this is not a counterpoint. There is no counterpoint, there is no defense for the indefensible. Renee Zellweger is a human being, with feelings, with a life, with love and with triumphs and struggles, just like the rest of us. How dare you use her as a punching bag in your mistaken attempt to make a mark at your new job. How dare you bully a woman who has done nothing but try to entertain people like you. Her crime, according to you, is growing older in a way you don’t approve of. Who are you to approve of anything?”

Dayum! The outspoken gal really summed it up best when she argued that there’s “no defense for the indefensible”!
Deeper in the essay, the Charmed alum recalled disturbing memories of her time in Hollywood which more than explains why she’s particularly sensitive about this issue:

“I am someone who was forced by a studio to go on Howard Stern where he asked me to show him my labia while my grinning male and female publicists stood to the side and did nothing to protect me. I am someone who has withstood death threats from fanboys, had fat sites devoted to me. I’ve withstood harassment on a level you can’t comprehend, Owen.”

So disgusting.
The 42-year-old went on to reason:

“Any studio that Renee Zellweger has made money for, any co-star she’s supported or anyone who takes a percentage of her income should be doing what’s right; they should be calling this harassment out.”

What a good point! Those who remain silent are just as culpable!
