UPDATE 11:00 A.M. EST: Drug company Sanofi, who makes Ambien, clapped back hard at Roseanne’s claim with the following statement:
People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

LOLz!
Didn’t she quit social media??
Roseanne Barr was back on Twitter Tuesday evening, in an effort to defend her racially charged Valerie Jarrett tweet and weigh in on her ABC show’s cancellation.
The disgraced comedienne began her social fury by retweeting alt-right figure Jack Posobiec, Thomas Wictor, and way too many supportive messages from her followers. She thanked fans by mostly replying to others’ messages.

She also tweeted (and deleted) that the sleep aid Ambien was seemingly responsible for her foul behavior:
“guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting — it was memorial day too — i went 2 far & do not want it defended — it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please.”
The 65-year-old actress talked about the drug again in a later tweet, sharing:
“Not giving excuses for what I did(tweeted) but I’ve done weird stuff while on ambien — cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc.”
Soon after, Roseanne took a page out of Donald Trump‘s playbook and denied blaming the drug for her racist rant:
i blamed myself. not ambien, stop lying

no, i didnt i blamed myself. stop lying. Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. I BLAME MYSELF OK? it’s just an explanation not an excuse, Ok, bully?

HMMMMOKAY. Then why mention in the first place, Ro??
The former sitcom star also shared two direct apologies at Jarrett as well as a few messages to her fans:
@ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you. I am very sorry to have hurt you. I hope you can accept this sincere apology!
— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) May 30, 2018
@ValerieJarrett i don’t know if u saw it, but I wanted2 apologize to u 4 hurting and upsetting u with an insensitive & tasteless tweet. I am truly sorry-my whole life has been about fighting racism. I made a terrible mistake wh caused hundreds of ppl 2 lose their jobs. so sorry!
— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) May 30, 2018
“Don’t feel sorry for me, guys!!-I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet.”
hey guys, don’t defend me, it’s sweet of you 2 try, but…losing my show is 0 compared 2 being labelled a racist over one tweet-that I regret even more.

Ambien became a top trending Twitter topic following Roseanne’s mention, and users of the social media site dragged her accordingly. For the best medicinal reactions, ch-ch-check out (below)!
Who among us hasn’t taken Ambien, sleepwalked down to the fridge, and posted dozens of racist tweets over several years

When you are awake at 4:30 in the morning for no GD reason and you check Twitter to find that (on the day you need her most) your good pal Ambien is being dragged through the mud pic.twitter.com/Uw7OB4ZYy1

Roseanne on Ambien – Firing off racist insults on twitter while wearing a Nazi uniform.
Me on Ambien – Continuously calling my dog Gladys (her name is Beans), while googling things like, “do penguins have knees?” ├░┼╕┬ñ┬╖├░┼╕┬Å┬╝├óΓé¼┬ì├óΓäóΓÇÜ├»┬╕┬Å

I’ve never heard of Ambien turning someone into a hateful white trash racist, but maybe they should look into it because there has been a recent spike in this type of behavior.

Who amongst us doesn’t take an Ambien, put on their best khaki pants, then accidentally swing by the nearest Home Depot, pick up a tiki torch, and march with some white nationalists?
