On Monday, Blair joined Miley Cyrus for a new episode of the singer’s daily Instagram Live show, Bright Minded: Live With Miley, to offer her perspective as someone who has been dealing with social isolation for months due to MS.

She shared:

“I have been pretty much in isolation for two years because of my physical issues that make it harder to get out, harder to speak, all of these things.”

The momma added that she sees how many people are now on the “same kind of daily trajectory” as she is:

“But even how we show our grace and being there for our loved ones, with keeping ourselves strong and also being vulnerable — which is a form of strength, to me, and has helped me, for other people to shoulder stuff when I’ve been nervous. So to be open, but also really take this opportunity to be the best you you can be, to help your days along,”

The 27-year-old asked her guest what advice she has for others when it comes to “receiving medical news that can immediately feel terrifying,” to which Selma replied:

“This moment is what we have, [even when] we hope for more.”

She also suggested individuals facing a medical diagnosis should try to “be open, but also really take this opportunity to be the best you you can be, to help your days along.” The Cruel Intentions actress encouraged others to “find the real gift” which can come with isolating yourself and changing your routines. Blair shared more of her story:

“This is an incredible time for me, ’cause I’m home, and to have my son home and to be able to have people understand .. there’s just nothing that gets me mad for long anymore, and it hasn’t for a couple years.”

The 47-year-old is also enjoying the quality time she’s been enjoying with her son Arthur:

“Unlike most of the other moms, I don’t keep a schedule right now with my kid.”

She added, explaining how she’s handling things with her 8-year-old:

“This is Woodstock, enjoy it. He’s on break right now too, so kind of anything goes.”

Thank U for the insight, Selma!
