Shannen Doherty Drops Some 'Cancer Truths' After A Woman 'Lunged Away' From Her Because Of Her Radiation Treatment!

Setting the record straight.
While many people have praised Shannen Doherty for her brave cancer fight, it seems the Heathers star still has to deal with some ignorance surrounding her medical treatment during her everyday life. On Thursday, Miz Doherty took to Instagram to drop some “cancer truths” after one woman “lunged away” from her upon learning the 45-year-old had just received radiation.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum posted:

Driving home from radiation with my love @kurtiswarienko Today, we were in an elevator and I was asked how I was feeling. I responded by saying that I had just gotten a radiation treatment so therefore very tired. The random girl on the elevator with us physically lunged away as far as she could. She then proceeded to look horrified for the next 3 floors. Just a heads up…. 1. You can’t catch it 2. The radiation won’t leak out of me and go into you. You tell ’em, girl. We feel so badly Shannen had to experience that, but are impressed with how she’s turned a negative encounter into a cancer awareness lesson.
But hey, the industry vet has been doing this kind of stuff since first starting treatment. Not only has Doherty been actively giving fans updates about her own breast cancer battle, but she’s also encourage others in a similar situation to stand up for what they need medically. Earlier this month, while praising her medical team, the Charmed actress wrote:

“Never be too timid to speak up and ask for what you need to get thru the process. None of this is easy but a great team can make it more pleasant.”

Preach! Is it just us, or should Shannen be writing a self help book??
