Simon's Thoughts On Filming US X Factor

You know you’re dying to know!

Now that the first week of auditions have been completed, Simon Cowell gives us his thoughts on the new season of US X Factor.

On Paula:

“You know I├óΓé¼Γäóve been doing interviews for months, you know we├óΓé¼Γäóre talking about the show and getting people to audition and over and over again, whether it was radio interviews or TV interviews, radio interviews, the internet, but mainly the public, I was hearing one message loud and clear. We want Paula on the show. I listened to the public, because they make or break our shows!”

On disagreements with Paula:

“What├óΓé¼Γäós interesting is is she├óΓé¼Γäós snappy. Paula. You know, she doesn├óΓé¼Γäót like something. I├óΓé¼Γäóve forgotten what she├óΓé¼Γäós like. She doesn├óΓé¼Γäót like you to disagree with her. And there were one or two disagreements. But that├óΓé¼Γäós why we wanted her on the show. I think it├óΓé¼Γäós important that everyone has their own viewpoint. But she is good at spotting talent. I mean I thought she was really on it the last two days and I said to her afterwards, this is the best I├óΓé¼Γäóve seen you in a long time.”

On Cheryl Cole joining the show:

“There├óΓé¼Γäós no question about it. Most British people that come over to these shows seem to be being mean or rude. Not me, but others… ! But but Cheryl, she├óΓé¼Γäós not like that. I mean, she├óΓé¼Γäós got a lot of fire in her, but you├óΓé¼Γäóre going to see a very different type of British judge with her and the audience really warmed to her.”

Cheryl’s hair:

“I wasn├óΓé¼Γäót really taken by Cheryl├óΓé¼Γäós hair. It was the equivalent of her using five gallons of hairspray and then standing in the middle of a hurricane! There was a lot of purple going on in the outfits too…

I think the guys won in the style stakes on the first day…!”

On the show’s groupwork:

“There is a massive opportunity for groups right now ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ how they normally happen is a manager puts them together but the best ones are groups who put themselves together. It doesn├óΓé¼Γäót matter if you haven├óΓé¼Γäót got it totally right for the first audition if you haven├óΓé¼Γäót got time ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ we will see potential. But I want to see as many as possible because I├óΓé¼Γäóm excited about this prospect. Get your mates together and form a group.

We had one good group but they were put together by their mother├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ the problem is mothers shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót be putting together a pop groups! They were 12,13, 14├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and the group should be put together by themselves. And they definitely don├óΓé¼Γäót get styled by their mother!”

Any songs he’s tired of?

“Yes! I├óΓé¼Γäóm really close to already banning Grenade by Bruno Mars. It all sounds the same . It used to be I├óΓé¼Γäóm Yours by Jason Mraz. Now we have got a replacement.”

Ha! We love his honesty! So far the US X Factor sounds EPIC! Can’t wait for the fall!
