Student Claims NYU Is FORCING Her To Live With Roommates' Four-Year-Old Son

An NYU student is super upset with the school for pairing her in a dorm with a roommate that leaves her four-year-old son there during the day while she’s at class.
In an email to the school’s dorms administrators – she wrote:

“You can imagine my shock at the revelation that my new roommate for the spring semester is the mother of a four year old, and that according to NYU Housing, the child is allowed to stay overnight for a maximum of six nights per month in accordance with the Guest Policy.
I pay $8,340 a semester for my living space and am bound to a legal contract, but yet I was never informed of the possibility of me having to frequently share that space with another student and her child.
Believe me, I understand the new resident├óΓé¼Γäós predicament and I am sympathetic to her struggle to juggle so many aspects of life, but I don├óΓé¼Γäót feel that it is just for me to be facing consequences related to her life decisions.”

Ouch!
We totally can sympathize with the student being upset that she’s got a four-year-old hanging out around her school dorm. Especially since you can’t have awesome make out sessions when there’s a four-year-old around.
Or can you??
But, also, it sounds like you haven’t really had a heart-to-heart with your roommate about the situation. Something we think you should have maybe done before emailing the school administrators and having this go public!
