The Green Day Movie Musical?!

Although the Green Day musical, American Idiot, doesn’t premiere on Broadway until mid-April, there is already talks of turning it into a movie!

Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are interested in turning the coming of age story into a feature film.

The show centers around three small-town guys. One joins the military, another moves to the city and acquires a drug habit, the lasts stays at home and gets his girlfriend pregnant. And each event is told through Green Day songs!

Hanks and Goetzman were behind Mamma Mia! so it’s debatable how this project will turn out!
