The 37-year-old completed his eight-month sentence for tax evasion last week after serving time in the facility since turning himself in January 15 following his guilty plea in January 2018.

In October, Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised release for his crime, on top of being ordered to pay $123,913 in restitution, along with a fine of $10,000, and complete 500 hours of community service.

Mike and Lauren shared a joint statement to People following his release, stating:

“We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations! We truly believe that the comeback is ALWAYS greater than the setback and we can’t wait to show the world ours.”

Aside from the whole baby situation, we wouldn’t be surprised if a tell-all or a memoir was in his future down the road.

ICYMI, this has been a long time coming so it’s no surprise they’re happy to put this behind them! The reality star and his brother Marc Sorrentino were first indicted in September 2014 for tax offenses and conspiring to defraud the US, after reportedly failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million in income from 2010 to 2012. That reality show money!! In April 2017, the two were indicted on additional charges including structuring and falsifying records, and tax evasion.

Maybe he could give Felicity Huffman (and probably Lori Loughlin) a few tips on adapting to prison life!! Congrats again on your release, Mike! Now get to smushing and work on a baby situation!
