Twitter Rolls Out New Features To Beat The Bullies!

Can they block Donald Trump while they’re at it? LOLz!
Twitter introduced a series of new safety features on Tuesday as an effort to curb harassment by keeping bullies and trolls off the site.
According to the company’s blog, the social network will work to prevent online abuse by making sure people who have already been banned (sorry, Azealia Banks) from creating new accounts, and will keep sensitive content from clogging up your feed.

Twitter’s new features include:

“Stopping the creation of new abusive accounts, bringing forward safer search results, and collapsing potentially abusive or low-quality Tweets.”

The new “safe search” application will remove tweets that have sensitive content from blocked and muted accounts from your search results.
While you can find the annoying tweets if you want to, your search results won’t be so cluttered with nonsense now.
Lastly, the micro-blogging site will work to hide potentially abusive and low-quality replies in Twitter conversation timelines and instead highlight more relevant messages.
If you’re dying to see the stupid stuff, you can click the tab for “less relevant replies”… but you should just see the the more helpful content when reading a conversation.
Awesome!

The VP of Engineering Ed Ho said in a statement:

“In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue to roll out product changes ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ some changes will be visible and some less so ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and will update you on progress every step of the way. With every change, we’ll learn, iterate, and continue to move at this speed until we’ve made a significant impact that people can feel.”

We’re so excited to hear how diligently the website is working to make their community a safer and more productive place!
