She means business!
Vivienne Westwood shaved her head to raise awareness for climate change, and now she’s getting naked for the environment!
In a recent video for PETA, the iconic British designer stripped down and hit the showers to raise awareness of how the meat trade wastes gallons upon gallons of water every day.
She said:
“I am an eco-warrior, but I take long showers with a clean conscience because I’m vegetarian. The meat trade is not only the worst polluter on the planet but it also squanders most of our water. Rivers are diverted for miserable factory farms. The water goes not just to the poor overcrowded animals but to grow the 16lbs of grain it takes to make just 1lb of meat.”
Though she limits her own showers, she stays clean in other ways, including sharing a bath with her husband, Andreas Kronthaler.
She explained:
“I just wash my bits and rush out in the morning and more often than not get in the bath after Andreas. It was really lucky for me when my husband decided he wanted to be a vegetarian. This is a great big man, very strong, perfect body man and we’re very strong, our bodies process these vegetables. We’re just really happy with our food.”
