This is pretty scary but it's true… bear attacks have been on the rise!
Most recently, a 12-year-old girl, Abby Wetherell, was attacked while jogging one night.
She was running around her neighborhood in Cadillac, Michigan when a bear popped out of nowhere and knocked her down from behind!
Abby tried to get up but the bear kept charing her, so she did all she could do… she played dead.
And that's what saved her life!!
After some surgery for a few deep cuts in her thigh, she's okay and recovering at home.
Check out the video (above) to learn some tips that may save your life in the event of a bear attack.
At Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, two hikers were left injured after an encounter with a grizzly bear!
That must've been terrifying!!
The beast charged the two hikers, leaving one of them with claw and bite marks and the other with injuries that were treated at the scene.
The hikers apparently came across a young grizzly that afternoon before the attacking bear charged!
We guess it was the mama bear, out protecting her cub.
Still, that must've been the scariest thing ever!!
We're so glad that no one was killed or seriously injured.
Don't mess with a mama bear!!

Josh Groban recently posted a pic to twitter of himself, looking dressed down and smiley.
Why are you so happy Josh? Are you somewhere in the middle of the woods?
Because there's a giant bear behind you!!
Look out!! …wait. That's just a
A hidden wildlife camera in a Alberta National park showed the world what bears do when they think no one is watching!
And it's adorable!
And a little bit saucy?
Apparently the bears in this park are all about twerking with each other on one very lucky tree, and the result is something you've got to see to believe!!!
WARNING: Extreme cuteness is up ahead!!!
Check out this amazing video by watching it (above) !!!
After a long day of hunting and gathering near Estes Park, CO, a black bear thought to himself, “Where can I get a drink around here?!”
So he wandered into the nearest watering hole.
And if you think this is the beginning to the newest Disney cartoon, it’s not.
This really, actually happened and there’s video to prove it.
Ch-ch-check out the footage (above)!
Whoa!! Look out behind you Katie!! There's a giant… stuffed.. bear…
Oh. Guess that's not a live polar bear… LOLz!
Katie Couric recently tweeted a terrifying pic (above) and wrote:
"Help!!!! @Hotelranga #Iceland"
That is seriously one GIGANTIC polar bear! We guess she met it while staying at Hotel Ranga in Iceland.
Sounds like a beautiful spot for a vacation… minus the deadly wildlife, of course.
Can you imagine if that thing was real and right behind her??
We'd die of fear before the bear ever got the chance to eat our face off.
Props to Katie for being brave enough to even approach the giant stuffed bear! But don't scare us like that again, Katie!

In Azusa, California, a mama bear and her cub were dumpster diving.
That's a bear's favorite activity! Next to sleeping, that is.
The little baby scouted ahead, climbing up on top of the dumpster and even trying to open it up!
He's a little smarty! Too smarty…
The cub ends up trapped inside!!
Oh no!! His mama can't get him cause it's a locking lid! How will her baby be saved??
Thankfully, a ranger from The California Department of Fish and Wildlife stepped in!
Check out the video (above) to see some cutie bears being reunited after a little human intervention.
