Dr. Drew Pinsky might be in huge trouble if it can be proved that he was paid to talk up Wellbutrin and its antidepressant effects!
Did they slip him a hundo (short for hundred dollar bill) before he gave talks on his radio show??
Nope, try $275,000 (allegedly).
All of this came about during the justice department's case against drug company GlaxoSmithKline, which has agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor criminal charges and pay $3 billion for committing healthcare fraud.
Which is the largest fraud settlement like that in U.S. history.
Back in 1999, Dr. Drew allegedly was paid the money over two months in “settings where it did not appear that [he] was speaking for GSK.”
Maybe people shouldn't do shady things like this — then they wouldn't get into trouble down the road!
Dr. Drew called in to the Adam Corolla radio show this morning to talk about Whitney Houston… and the flak he's getting from Whoopi Goldberg because of it!
Apparently people have been getting racial vibes from Whoopie's opposition to Dr. Drew being able to talk about the incident. We're not sure we totally picked up on them ourselves, but people can believe what they want!
In addition to talking about the flak, Dr. Drew makes some interesting points and observations about the singer's death!
Update: Amanda's parents' conservatorship is still in place. In addition, the judge ruled that the lawyer who was present to rep Amanda could not have been hired by her because she didn't have the capacity to enter a binding contract.
This can't be a good start for this lady!
It looked like Amanda Bynes was going to be late to her court hearing where she hoped to end her parents' conservatorship, and it seems like that is exactly what has happened!
Her lawyer reportedly showed up to the courthouse in Ventura County, California, and zipped right into the courtroom where the lawyer in question hopes to convince the judge that Amanda is sound enough to live on her own without the interference of her parents!
