Booooooooo + 1000x more o's!!!

We were really hoping for more than just the one return season Arrested Development (even though there's been talk of a movie), but we just got our hope's asses handed to us by the Netflix CEO Reed Hastings (the same braniac that wanted to split Netflix's DVD and streaming services and keeps hiking prices!)!

Here's what he said:

Rex Reed went on a New York radio show this week to defend himself against the backlash he created by poking fun at Melissa McCarthy's weight in the review of her new film with Jason Bateman, Identity Theft!

Everyone from Jenny McCarthy to fitness guru Jillian Michaels had homegurl's back since the film critic's nasty, personal tirade! We're THRILLED so many people rush to her defense!

Rex, for his part, wants the world to know he doesn't think obesity is a laughing matter.

He said:

Glad to see that one nasty, completely out-of-line review didn't detract audiences from the GLORY that is Melissa McCarthy!

Hell, even the Snowpocalypse couldn't keep movie-goers away from her!

In fact, despite all of the odds, the actress' new comedy with Jason Bateman, Identity Thief, topped the weekend box by pulling in an estimated $36.6 million…the FIFTH biggest opening ever for a non-sequel R-rated comedy!

Sadly, however, it seems that Blizzard Storm Nemo DID take a bit of a toll on the flick's business, as Universal Studios projected that had it not been for all the snow, it could have surpassed the $40 million mark!

Hey! Whatever!

It still beat out last weekend's #1 film, Warm Bodies AND Channing Tatum's latest collaboration with Steven Soderbergh, Side Effects, which respectively pulled in $11.5 million AND $10 million!

Jason Bateman arrived at JFK with his girls, Francesca and Maple yesterday, and once they got off the plane, his six-year-old was spotted pushing luggage!

Ideally, a baby girl that small should NOT be held responsible to carry bags, but apparently the Hit and Run actor thought it was ok to let his little angel haul heavy suitcases.

It's just funny to see that Jason didn't even have one bag in his hand, but Francesca was struggling to get through the airport. LOLz

Being Bateman's daughter must be hard!! Ha!

Reason #651 we're thrilled to have averted the Mayan Apocalypse: The return of Arrested Development!

After years of sleepless nights caused mostly by lack of Jason Bateman and Michael Cera, we're only four months away from AD's return to the small screen whichever screen hooks up to your Netflix account!

Though the critically-adored show was cancelled back when Justin Bieber was still a tween, it was never forgotten.

On the contrary, diehard fans begged and pleaded and promised to wash the luxury sedans of network bigwigs.

These execs cared greatly about profits, just a little bit about freshly polished rims, and not even a smidgeon about whether Bluth's Original Frozen Banana Stand would ever reopen for business.

The Gods were kind, however, as Netflix miraculously teamed up with series creator Mitch Hurowitz to reunite the entire ensemble cast for a 14-episode season set to drop in May.

It's been seven years, though — so don't expect the show to be exactly the same as it was!

In an interview yesterday, Mitch discussed several changes.

He revealed:

What if you knew you were you, but cops and creditors thought you were Melissa McCarthy instead?!

Uhh, we suppose that's an interesting premise for a knee-slapper!

Universal Pictures is certainly banking on it!!
