The Sex And The City Prequel Is ON The CW!!!

Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City The Carrie Diaries The CW Prequel Series

After many back and forth conversations concerning the next step in the Carrie Bradshaw saga, it is official!

The next step is actually one (or two…or thirty) BACK! Back into a time before she could afford all those Jimmy Choos.

The CW has picked up Candace Bushnell's The Carrie Diaries to show audiences what it was like for Carrie during her senior year of high school.

It is also reported that Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are planning to co-pilot the project.

Ahhh, so is this how Blake Lively will segue from one CW project to the next? After all, Josh has what…6, 7 shows on the air right now? We wouldn't be surprised if he ends Gossip Girl in a year or two right in time for this prequel series to start.

And why didn't HBO want to take this for themselves? Hmm, maybe because the original show's head writer, Michael Patrick King, finds it a bit blasphemous? After all, he did say, "For me the idea of going backward and making her less evolved is something I don't even imagine doing."

Also, it would probably work better on The CW anyways. It brings in a whole new generation of SatC fans, and honestly, how much uncensored sex could teenage Carrie have had anyways? It's not Samantha Jones!!!

Sex And The City Will NOT Be Returning To TV!

Sex and the City Not Returning to TV

Sigh.

We knew it was too good to be true.

We told you about the gossip of Sex and the City returning to TV yesterday, and while we had our skepticism too, we still held on a little bit of hope.

But a rep from

Sex And The City Returning To TV!?!

Sex and the City returning to TV possibly 2011 2012

Despite heavy talk of a Sex and the City prequel film, the franchise's head writer and director, Michael Patrick King, told journalists last week:

My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33 and I took her to 40. For me the idea of going backward and making her less evolved…is something I don't even imagine doing. I am sure Candace Bushnell did a great job on them (the books) but I have no connection to a prequel.

But according to some inside sources,

Kim Cattrall Is Doubtful Of A Sex & The City 3!

kim-cattrall-is-doubtful-of-a-sex-and-the-city-3

This is possibly for the best!

It's been a wonderful run, but we're ready to say good-bye, if we have to!

Kim Cattrall recently opened up about why she was initially reluctant to sign on to the first Sex & The City movie after the series ended, and also if she thinks Samantha Jones will be returning for a third installment, and unfortunately, signs are not looking good!

She explains:

"I don't know if it will happen. I really, really have no idea. I love playing Samantha Jones. I would love playing Samantha Jones again, but I don't know if I will. Originally I was asked to do the movie with no script, no start date, and a very paltry sum. I thought the three of us should fight for a piece of what we created and that was my reluctance. The four of us were not set for life. We were on cable TV and we were not making nearly what our counterparts in television were making. I thought we were working damn hard and it was the time to negotiate that."

Inneresting to finally hear the reason behind her holding out!

Makes sense to us!

And we certainly will miss our gurl Samantha, if this is actually the end of her!

Whether or not you come back, you ladies will always be in our hearts!

What do U think?? Should a Sex & The City 3 get made?

Kim Cattrall Explodes On Red Carpet Reporter!

kim-cattrall-drunk-fight-reporter.jpg

There is always that latent urge inside of her to let Samantha Jones come barreling out, so if you upset her, don't be surprised when she lays into you…especially if she's had a few!

Kim Cattrall caused a bit of scene last night at the premiere of Meet Monica Velour in New York when she got angry with a reporter for their line of questioning and for not having seen her film. She started off by snapping at the reporter for asking her about bikini waxes, firing back:

"Ask me about being a woman. Do you know what it's like to be 54 and marginalized? It doesn't get easier as you get older…That's a stupid question. You're a smart girl. How could you want to write that?"

Then, Kim took over the interview and started asking the reporter her own questions, like why she wanted to be a gossip columnist and not write for something "respectable" like "Roybers." It was instantly clear that the Sex and The City actress meant to say "Reuters," and when she was corrected, Kim replied, "Yeah, sorry, I've been drinking."

Ah! A little liquid courage to help her get through the evening. Might've been smarter to have waited till the afterparty.

But tipsy or no, she did make one fairly good point during her spat with the reporter. When prompted, the reported admitted that she hadn't seen the film due to a deadline. With that, Kim angrily asked, "You didn't see my film! Why are you even here?"

It's a good point - you go to a movie premiere, you should at least have the decency to know what the film is about. Then again, we imagine the reporter doesn't feel too ashamed over it. She got what she wanted - a juicy story about a drunken celeb.

Hey, its what sells after all!
