Influencer Alix Earle Thought She Got An STD From A Mechanical Bull... WHAT?!

Alix Earle had an STD scare! After riding a mechanical bull…?

The influencer shared a WILD story on the latest episode of her Hot Mess podcast! On Thursday, the 22-year-old was talking all about her years at University of Miami, and she recalled a particular time she was fearful she’d caught an STD after a tailgate. She explained how at the freshman year party, there was a mechanical bull ride that everyone was enjoying:

“This tailgate had a mechanical bull which is obviously so fun … drunk girls were eating that s**t up. I’m flying around, I had my little game day outfit on … I rode that bull not once, not twice, probably 20 times thinking it was the coolest thing anyone’s ever seen.”

Wow! That fun didn’t last for long, though. Alix said the next morning she woke up and noticed several bumps on her legs from where she’d ridden the bull:

“My mind immediately flashes to an STD.”

Um… what??

Explaining how she came to this conclusion, the TikTok star said she heard from a friend that there was “a girl she knew [who] went to a bar [and] rode a mechanical bull”:

“She got an STD situation all over her legs. So I look at my legs and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I have the bull riding STD’ … [I was] freaking out, shaking, with tears in my eyes.”

At the time, she recalled rushing to her friend Hannah Knight‘s room, who was a nursing major — but she was only taking biology and her first year math class at the time. With not much help, the girls started scouring the internet for answers:

“I was looking on Web M.D. … [it turned out to be] bull burn from the tailgate.”

Whew! It must’ve been scary thinking she contracted an STD at the time, but it is worth noting that STDs don’t survive long outside of the body. Just like the age-old myth you could catch one from a toilet seat — it’s virtually impossible to catch one from a mechanical bull!

We’re glad everything turned out okay, but jeez! Sex education is so important! Reactions, Perezcious readers?
