It turns out Andrew Garfield‘s real super power is being classy!
The Amazing Spider-Man star was in attendance at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association‘s Grants Banquet on Thursday, where he finally commented on the casting of the next Peter Parker.

When asked how he felt about young Tom Holland taking up the superhero mantle for Marvel, he gave just the most generous answer!
He said:
“It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor. He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he’s] a dancer, so his body’s the right [form].”
We bet Tom is happy to get his web-slinging predecessor’s blessing!
But will Andrew watch the new Spider-Man films? You bet! He revealed:
“I’m just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it.”
It IS definitely more fun being a viewer! The popcorn’s on us opening day, Andrew!
The new Spider-Man will make his debut in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016.
