Busy Philipps Says James Franco ‘Deserves’ To Be Dragged For His Past Behavior

Busy Philipps James Franco freaks geeks

Think Busy Philipps was too harsh in exposing the decades-old altercation she had with James Franco? Busy Philipps disagrees.
In fact, the actress thinks her former costar “deserves” to be dragged for the incident she detailed in her new memoir, This Will Only Hurt A Little, where Franco allegedly shoved her to the ground on the set of Freaks and Geeks in 1999.

She explained in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I know people are going to pull from [my book] that I’m f**king hard on James Franco. Whatever, he deserves it. But I think the person I’m hardest on is myself.”

That’s also how she felt at the time of the alleged incident, too.
Earlier in the interview, the 39-year-old admitted that she didn’t want to complain about the alleged assault at the time because she didn’t want to be labeled “difficult” to work with. She continued:

“It wasn’t even outrageous. At the time, 19 and with my first professional acting job, I was under the impression that this was just the way things were. James and I have talked about it over the years. At one point he apologized to me. I was always acutely aware of my expendability, and so I felt I needed to never complain, always show up on time and not be difficult. If someone else was being difficult, it was my job to be the easy one or figure out a way to soothe the situation.”

But that was then. Now, the actress is empowering herself by coming forward with stories she’s kept secret for decades — like the time she was raped at age 14.
As for her incident with Franco, Philipps wrote that he did apologize about the shove… but only because he was ordered to do so by producers. In a 2016 interview, she said the two had since made amends.
Do YOU think he deserves the heat after all these years?
